Senator Patricia Rucker Recognized as a Champion for Charter Schools in West Virginia

West Virginia families who value school choice have a dedicated advocate in Senator Patricia Rucker. Her unwavering support for charter schools and expanded educational opportunities recently earned her the distinction of being named a Public Charter School Champion by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.

West Virginia Virtual Academy (WVVA) had the honor of presenting this award to Senator Rucker, with Cheryl Stahle, WVVA’s Academic Administrator, making the official presentation. Stahle emphasized the senator’s pivotal role in advancing school choice options in the state. 

“Senator Rucker has been a passionate advocate for school choice and charter schools in particular,” said Stahle. “Students and families across West Virginia now can select an education model that works best for them. I was honored to present this award on behalf of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools to Senator Rucker for her unwavering commitment to students and charter schools.” 

Throughout her tenure, Senator Rucker has championed policies that expand access to charter schools and empower families to choose the best educational path for their children. Her leadership has played a crucial role in ensuring that students across the state have the resources and opportunities to succeed. 

The Public Charter School Champion Award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the growth and success of charter schools. Senator Rucker’s advocacy continues to make a lasting impact, shaping the future of education in West Virginia.
