Testing and Assessment FAQs
What tests will my child be required to take?
Students who are enrolled in West Virginia Virtual Academy (WVVA) are required to take the following tests:
- Course lesson assessments
- Course unit assessments
- Semester assessments
- West Virginia General Summative Assessments (WVGSA)
- Students in grades 3–8 are assessed in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics.
- Students in grades 5 and 8 also are assessed in science.
Will my child have to participate in state testing?
Yes. Families enrolling at WVVA must be willing to participate in all required areas of the program.
